As a child of the 1950s, my Saturday afternoons were spent at the movies, and my favorite movies were westerns. I grew up on Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, the Lone Ranger and Tonto, Jesse James, the Cisco Kid, and Cochise. In my free time during the week, I imagined myself as a character in one of those movies, making up my own story that intertwined with theirs. I loved the adventures of that time, and that is why I write historical fiction.
